Target grid planning and strategic grid development
With retoflow, you can easily keep an eye on the long-term development of your entire distribution grid.
Simulate future supply tasks
With the retoflow scenario editor, you can easily simulate the ramp-up of electric vehicle charging points, heat pumps and renewable energy systems.
The scenarios can be broken down both chronologically in support years and geographically in priority areas. This allows you to incorporate your local knowledge of the grid area and model a realistic scenario.

Predicting impending bottlenecks
The simulation of the entire grid area gives you a preview of the utilization of the grid areas based on the modelled scenarios.
This allows you to easily identify which medium-voltage outgoing circuits or low-voltage grids are at risk of bottlenecks in the medium to long term and plan suitable measures at an early stage.
Planning grid expansion measures
If bottlenecks are imminent, you can use retoflow to simulate and analyze various grid expansion measures.
With the retoflow medium-voltage target grid planning module, you can even automate the target grid planning process: You define the boundary conditions for the planning, and retoflow automatically provides you with suggestions for possible target grid variants!

Frequently asked questions
Where does the scenario data in retoflow come from?
If you have already determined scenario data for the ramp-up, you can store this data directly in the retoflow scenario editor. A regional resolution, e.g. by zip code, is possible.
If you do not yet have any scenario data, we will be happy to show you how to create a scenario yourself in retoflow and apply it to your grid.
Does target grid planning in retoflow work at the touch of a button?
No, target grid planning is always an iterative and multi-stage process.
retoflow offers various proposal systems to take as much work off your hands as possible. However, no black box algorithms are used where you cannot influence the result. You can therefore intervene at any time and change assumptions or specify measures manually.
Ultimately, you know the local characteristics of your grid best, and retoflow allows you to incorporate this knowledge into the planning.
Are there limits to the size of the grid area?
The retoflow grid filter allows you to individually select the area to be planned. It is possible to select and plan several substation areas together for medium-voltage planning. In low voltage, a simulation of the entire grid area is possible in a grid study.
